New Technology in a Traditional Society

In the news this week was a report that Softbank – an Internet content and services company in Japan — was buying USTREAM and was planning on introducing a Japanese language stream by May.  The report, on JapanTrends.com, questioned the reception such technology would have in “a culture which almost religiously treasures anonymity and privacy.”  You can read the full JapanTrends story HERE.
